Skillastics Supports NASPE’s Let’s Move In School Initiative
Skillastics is thrilled to partner with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) to sponsor Let’s Move In School, a public initiative led by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) to ensure that every school provides a comprehensive physical activity program with quality physical education as the foundation.
Skillastics is taking part in the largest gathering of physical educators at AAHPERD’S 126th annual convention in San Diego, March 29-April 2, by hosting a fitness break during the NASPE Physical Education Coordinator Program session. In addition, Skillastics will be involved in the first ever Let’s Move in School Showcase at Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres), where San Diego students will demonstrate how Skillastics products can be used in school physical activity programs. “With the growing trend of childhood obesity and physical inactivity, it is critically important that we all join forces to get children and youth moving“, says Sandy Slade, President and Founder of Skillastics. “One of our recent studies reveals that the target heart rates of students who used Skillastics were comfortably in an energy efficient zone, known as a fat burning zone. This fat burning zone provides cardiovascular benefits that allow students to be active for a longer period of time.”
