Can Skillastics be Competitive?
Absolutely! The Skillastics technique was created initially for the emphasis on participation; however, children will ask very quickly; “how do you win?” There are a variety of ways to make Skillastics competitive. The first option we suggest is by the instructor’s evaluation. Prior to the start of play, the instructor calls to attention the fact that he/she will be assessing the teams based upon a number of procedures; are they working together as a team, are they doing the activities correctly, are they ALL doing the amount of repetitions required, are they NOT cheating, are they encouraging their teammates? All these factors based upon the instructor’s assessment will determine the winner.
