- Does Sandy have any instructional material that can help me teach basketball
fundamentals more effectively?
Sandy has two instructional videos -- " Teaching Basketball Fundamentals" and "Teaching Shooting Fundamentals",
and an illustrated, instructional ball handling and dribbling manual entitled " The Art of Handling the Rock". Each are
sold separately or included in an Instructional Package at a special price. Basketball Skillastics was created to help instructors
teach basketball fundamentals to large classes with kids at varying skill levels.
- I've got a large class size, 30-80 students. How can I get my students to enjoy working
on basketball fundamentals and free me up so I have time to access my students?
These are the reasons Sandy created Basketball Skillastics. Since first introduced at the National AAHPERD conference in April,
2002, Basketball Skillastics has received raves and praise from teachers throughout the country. This game is guaranteed to
revolutionize the way you teach basketball. Set up as a non-competitive game, your students can practice ball handling drills
at their own pace while you can work with individuals. Kids who love basketball find the drills to be challenging and effective
at improving their game. Those kids who prefer the bench will get a good workout and can build skills they can use in other sports.
All will learn the value of teamwork.
Visit the Games section to find out how the game is played.
- My school/rec center does not have a gymnasium. Can I use Skillastics Games
outside?
You bet. In over 18 years of visiting schools and recreation programs across the country I understand the physical
limitations that many physical educators have to contend with. All of my games can be played outdoors on grass, or in
the case of Basketball Skillastics on pavement. Some teachers have told me that they use the games when they are kicked
out of their school’s cafeteria/gymnasium for a special event.
